As a cradle for traditional opera, the Xiqu Center of Taiwan exists in large part to cultivate performing artists and other theater professionals. Drawing on the resources at its disposal, including resident performing groups, promising young talents from a range of different artistic backgrounds are selected to take part in workshops, internships with theatrical troupes and musical groups, master classes, and internships with private businesses. Through long-term training, and in conjunction with other programs, the center is constantly looking to find the best ways to develop the talent of the future, so as to ensure its ability to keep creating new works. The large-scale productions that the center hosts will also serve to build up our expertise and professionalism through hands-on experience, which will in turn mean higher-quality technical support.
